July 2--Day 20--Wally World

Yes, National Lampoon fans, we made it to Wally World today. Well, Angel, Ashlynn, and Ari did. I stayed home and kept Nana company. Wally World is the name for the water park out at East Park amusement area. It was only about 80-85 degrees and breezy this afternoon, and that's just not hot enough for the Carolina girls to be at a water park! They were covered in goose bumps! It was great fun. One slide was called The Bullet, and you go almost straight down--Ashlynn was the only one of the three brave enough to try it. As the clouds rolled in, the breeze picked up and temp dropped, but Ashlynn kept on going down the slides! Angel and Ari had to go wrap up in their towels, but not Ashlynn. She's really going to sleep well tonight. In fact, she's been so worn out each night that she's been sleeping in until 9 or later each morning. And if you know what an early bird Ashlynn normally is, you'd be shocked. The morning after the Canada Day BBQ at Shanna and Nigel's, she slept in until 10:15!

The temperature has been so nice here. The first couple of days it was drizzly, but it cleared up by Sunday. It was really hot on Tuesday at the zoo, and it's going to cool down a little for the rest of the week. No wonder DJ's always fussing during the summer about how he wants to move back to Canada! Of course, he doesn't complain during our mild winters when Canada is digging itself out of several feet of snow! But it sure has been nice on this trip. And I guess it's like this most of the summer, because Chris and Terry don't even have an a/c unit in their house! Try getting away with that down South!

This has really been a great trip though. Those two girls have had so much fun. They've gone over to Chris and Terry's almost every evening for Ashlynn to watch a movie while I update the blog (with a little help from Angel, since I lack opposable thumbs). So far she's seen Jurassic Park, The Land Before Time (parts 1 and 2), Oliver and Company, and tonight is Free Willy.

I love getting the updates... keep them coming! I have to comment that you would be a great scrapbooker! Sock Monkey, you may have to convince Angel and Ashlynn to scrapbook this trip based on your blog when you get back!! :-) I'd love to see it!
