July 1--Day 19--Toronto Zoo

Happy Canada Day! The Toronto Zoo celebrated with cake! It sure was tasty!

Chris, Terry, Ari, Ashlynn, Angel, and I traveled to the big city to see the zoo. What a great place! Good thing we saw polar bears in Detroit; they've been moved from here while the new Tundra exhibit is under construction.

But the zoo still has grizzlies!

Ashlynn and Ari with an owl.

And what trip to a Canadian zoo would be complete without a moose?

We're hoping to see some of those next week in Algonquin Park.

But in case we don't, I might have to use this picture over again and claim we did!

So which monkey is Ashlynn?

Good news--the screaming kid from Detroit was no where to be heard! The only memorable stories to tell from the zoo involve a zebra and a kangaroo, both well endowed with, um, well, boy parts. The zebra was causing a loud commotion from the crowd, and Angel didn't feel like violating him by taking his picture at such a moment. And the kangaroo, well, she didn't even notice what all was in the picture until she started uploading them onto the computer. Since this is a family-friendly blog, that picture could not be posted. But here's a few that you can safely view:

Meerkats are Ashlynn's favorite (or should I say "favourite") animals, so she was excited to see them today. Pretty cool, eh?
